South State Street Manufactured Gas Plant Grant Agreement

Authorized Mayor to enter into $500,000 Remedial Action Grant agreement with Washington State Department of Ecology for the South State Street Manufactured Gas Plant remediation project at Boulevard Park. The grant funds engineering design completion, permitting, and construction plan preparation for contamination cleanup from a former gas production facility that operated 1890s-1950s. City provides $500,000 match from Environmental Remediation Fund with grant effective through June 30, 2027 and construction targeted for 2027-2028.
